My top 5 picks for Unusual hotels

Fancy staying in a glass igloo and starring the sky or do you dare at an accommodation suspended on a cliff ? Ever lived in a room under a waterfall or in a bubble ? When it comes to accommodation,world is your oyster and this post will redefine how you think of hotels.

Here are my top 5 picks of unusual hotels around the world.

Does the image shown above remind you of the movie E.T? It is actually one of the seven rooms,aptly named as "UFO room" in the Treehotel,Sweden.

Located at the Pine Forest of Harads,Northern Sweden this treehouse hotel is inspired by nature and surroundings.While these abodes are a far cry from the humble backyard treehouse, these suites have been carefully crafted into unique designs resembling a bird’s nest, flying saucer, floating Lego block and a treehouse made with a mirrored exterior that reflects the forest surroundings.

The "Mirrorcube" room is an exciting hide-out among the trees, camouflaged by mirrored walls that reflect their surroundings.

Can you find the room ? I can wakeup to a view like that everyday with a steaming hot coffee.

The little domes are guestrooms that create the living situation inside a glass igloo. The igloos are made of thermal glass to keep warm. It also has the world’s largest smoke sauna.

Bubbletree,France:

These transparent inflatable pods are not for those requiring either privacy or pitch black to get some shut-eye. The airy architectural bubbles were designed by Pierre Stéphane Dumas and have proved popular all across Europe. Thirteen locations currently use them as guesthouses in France, including one on the grounds of the 16th-century castle Château de la Forêt, and bubbles have also appeared in Spain and Switzerland. Ideal for stargazing;

The bubble hotel rooms do not have frames so they are filled with air to keep them erect.

Magic Mountain, Panguipulli, Chile

This hotel is named after a favourite book of the owners - The Magic Mountain and the story describes a mountain that has magical powers and grants wishes.With a waterfall cascading from the pinnacle of the roof of the lodge, this indeed is a magical mountain.

In this enchanting hotel, the rooms are hidden inside a conical stone tower from whose roof a waterfall cascades down past the windows.

Skylodge Adventure Suites, Sacred Valley, Cuzco Peru

Located in Cuzco Peru, the Skylodge Adventure Suites are transparent capsules on the top of a mountain in the Sacred Valley of Peru.You can sleep in a completely transparent hanging bedroom but to reach the lodge you have to climb 400 feet (122 meters), or hike an challenging trail using ziplines before enjoying the impressive views of the mystical valley.‬ ‪
